Shyamoli Textile Engineering College

In 1979, Shyamoli Ideal Technical College (SITC) was established in the Shyamoli area to address the growing need for technical education by offering various technical courses. Over the years, as the demand for sophisticated and latest technologies increased, the Chairman of SITC recognized the necessity to upgrade the institution. In 2000, SITC underwent a significant transformation and was upgraded to a Diploma Engineering institute. This upgrade allowed the institute to offer a comprehensive 4-year Diploma in Engineering Degree program, affiliated with the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, and thus was renamed Shyamoli Ideal Polytechnic Institute (SIPI). With a continued commitment to advancing technical education and contributing to the textile sector in Bangladesh and beyond, SIPI underwent another transformation in 2010. This time, it was elevated to the status of a B.Sc. Engineering College, offering a 4-year bachelor's degree program in Textile Engineering. Affiliated with the prestigious University of Dhaka, the institution was renamed Shyamoli Textile Engineering College (STEC). Since its upgrade to a B.Sc. Engineering College, STEC has remained steadfast in its mission to provide excellence in scientific and technical education and research in the textile sector. It strives to serve as a valuable resource for both industry and society, contributing to the socioeconomic development of Bangladesh and earning recognition as a source of pride for all Bangladeshis. Over the years, the academic curriculums at STEC have continued at full pace, preparing students to become leaders and innovators in the field of textile engineering.
